SC rejects Subrata Roy's plea for more time to deposit Rs 966.80 crore
New Delhi, Sept 11 (IBNS): The Supreme Court on Monday rejected Sahara India's Chief Subrata Roy's petition for more time to deposit remaining Rs 966.80 crore out of Rs 1500 crore by Nov 11, media reports said.
The apex court has said that an extension of deadline will lead to 'travesty of justice'.
In fact, the court allowed the official liquidator to prepare for the scheduled auction of Sahara's Aamby Valley project.
The Sahara group has been engaged in a legal battle with SEBI since long for failing to refund billions of dollars to investors in a bond programme.
