Wichita, Sep 15 (IBNS): A 21-year-old man was arrested by the Wichita Police for the murder of an Indian doctor, who was stabbed to death in US' Kansas state, reports said.

The incident took place on Wednesday evening.

Police however booked the attacker on Thursday morning while identifying both the doctor and the suspect.

The deceased doctor, Achutha Reddy, hailed from the southern Indian state of Telangana and was a mental health expert by profession.

The attacker is said to be one of his patients and has been identified as Umar Rashid Dutt, local KAKE.com reported.

Meanwhile, following his death, his colleagues remembered him as a passionate human being.

"He had a real passion for helping people with mental illness,” KSN.com quoted Episcopal Social Services Executive Director Barbara Andres as saying.

"He was really very focused on wellness and exercise and we have been focused on that too, so we work with a lot of doctors, a lot of psychiatrists, but Dr. Reddy was one of ours and there were just a lot of people who were in his care,” Andres said.

Police said that the attacker chased the doctor, as the attack began in his clinic and ended in a nearby lane, and stabbed him multiple times before killing him.
