Former Maharashtra CM Narayan Rane quits Congress

Mumbai, Sept 21 (IBNS): Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Narayan Rane on Thursday announced his resignation from the Congress party.

Rane submitted his resignation from the state Legislative Council to the Speaker at 2.25 pm on Thursday, media reports said.

The politician informed in a press conference that he will announce his next decision after the Navratri.

He also said that he will go on a state-wide tour.

Rane had joined the Congress party after quitting the Shiv Sena 12 years ago.

During the press conference after his resignation, Rane said he was “humiliated” by senior leaders like Ahmed Patel and Ashok Chavan.
