NITI Ayog and Assam govt organise workshop on health sector

Guwahati, Sept 22 (IBNS): A state level consultation on Sustainable Action for Transforming Human Capital (SATH) organised by a collaborative partnership between NITI Ayog and Assam Health and Family Welfare department was held at Assam Administrative Staff College, Khanapara, Guwahati on Friday.

SATH or Sustainable Action for Transforming Human Capital is a transformative project undertaken by NITI Aayog and Department of Health and Family Welfare, Assam in partnership with Mckinsey & Company and IPE Global.

SATH aims to build three future role model states for health systems that can be replicated by other states to help achieve India’s public health goals rapidly.

The three model states were selected through a three-stage process-expression of interest, presentations by the states and assessment of commitment to health sector reforms. 

It is worth mentioning that Assam, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh were shortlisted by the committee comprising of member of NITI Aayog and representative from Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

For the selected states, the SATH project aims to identify the key challenges, design actionable solutions and finally implement these solutions over the next 2 years to improve the states’ health outcomes.
