Police on Thursday blamed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba for the murder of BSF constable Ramzan Ahmad Parray in Kashmir's Bandipora district as security forces launched a massive search operation for militants, reports said.

According to media reports, outgoing DIG North Kashmir Nitish Kumar said that Lashkar militants were behind the murder of Parray, who was dragged out of his home at Hajin  shot dead on Wednesday.

Parray was on leave. Four members of his family were also injured.

Talking to journalists in Baramulla,  Kumar said that LeT commander Mehmood Bhai carried out the killing of Parray.

"He was accompanied by few more militants when the killing took place," the top cop said.
