Narendra Modi congratulate Indian Hockey team, badminton player Kidambi Srikanth for registering victories

New Delhi, Oct 22 (IBNS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated the Indian Hockey team for winning the Asia Cup.

He also congratulated Indian badminton player Kidambi Srikanth for winning the Denmark Open.

In his tweet wishing the Hockey team, Modi tweeted: "Great game, great win! Congrats to our hockey team for winning the #AsiaCup2017. India rejoices at this stupendous victory. @TheHockeyIndia."

In a memorable match, India defeated Malaysia 2-1 to lift the Asia Cup Hockey title here on Sunday.

Modi greeted the badminton player and said: "Congratulations @srikidambi! Your remarkable victory at the #DenmarkSSP makes every Indian proud and happy."

Creating magic on the court, Indian badminton player  Kidambi Srikanth defeated Lee Hyun-Il of South Korea to clinch the Denmark Open title on Sunday.

The Indian defeated his opponent  21-10, 21-5 in clinch his third Superseries Premier title.

The match just ended in 25 minutes as the South Korean could not giving strong reply to Srikanth.

With the victory, the Indian registered his 5th Superseries title victory and third this year.

The Indian player maintained his dominance all throughout the clash.

Indian Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore congratulated and tweeted: "What a day for Indian sports! @srikidambi wins #DenmarkSSP, and with it, his THIRD super series for the year! Well done, champ! Way to go!"
