Shimla, Nov 1 (IBNS): The Congress released their manifesto for the upcoming Himachal Pradesh assembly election, scheduled to take place this month, on Wednesday, media reports said.

The election will be held on November 9. The result will be declared on November 18.

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday named Prem Kumar Dhumal as its chief ministerial candidate for the assembly polls in Himachal Pradesh.

Dhumal had earlier served the state as the chief minister two times in his career.

The name was announced on Tuesday by BJP president Amit Shah.

"In Himachal, BJP will contest the polls under the leadership of Dhumal," Shah announced as he named the party's candidate for the state assembly polls.

Dhumal will contest from Sujanpur seat.

The Congress is presently ruling the state under chief minister Virbhadra Singh.
