Army personnel and three militants killed during gunfight in Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 6 (IBNS): An Indian army personnel and three militants were killed in an encounter in Kandi Aglar village of Pulwama district on Kashmir, police said on Monday. 

Speaking to India Blooms, a police officer said that three militants, who are believed to be associated with Jaish-e-Muhammad, have been killed in the fierce encounter that broke out on Monday evening at Kandi Aglar village in Pulwama of South Kashmir.

The bodies of all the three militants were recovered along with two AK-47 rifles and a pistol, he said.

Meanwhile Defence spokesperson said the identities of the militants are yet to be ascertained.

The encounter is over but searches are underway.

The spokesperson further said that soldier Sham Sundar of 44RR was killed in the gunfight.

During gunfight, a civilian has also been injured as a result of stone-throwing clashes near the encounter site.
