Ryan murder case: CBI says Gurgaon police planted knife on conductor

New Delhi, Nov 10 (IBNS):  The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has revealed that Gurgaon police had planted the murder weapon, a knife, that was used to kill seven-year old Pradyuman Thakur in Ryan International School, on bus conductor Ashok Kumar, media reports said.

The conductor of the school's bus was arrested in connection with the incident.

He allegedly had confessed to having committed the crime after failing to sexually abuse the child but now after a CBI probe it appeared he was possibly framed for a crime he did not commit.

Almost two months after  Pradyuman Thakur was murdered inside the toilet of Ryan International School's Gurugram branch, the CBI apprehended a 16-year-old boy in connection with the murder.

Being a juvenile, his name was not disclosed but was identified as a class 11 student.

According to the CBI, the weapon belonged to the Class XI student.

The teenager allegedly wanted to impede the approaching exams and parent teacher meeting and hence killed the boy.

Earlier, the suspect's father had said that his son was wrongly framed but on Thursday, the latter confessed to his crime in front of his father, said reports.

Ashoke's family has said that they will now file a case against the cops for planting evidence against him, reports said.

"Now it is almost clear that my son Ashok was framed and made a scapegoat. We have decided to file a case against Gurugram Police SIT officers who framed and used torture and even drugged him to confess before the media that he had committed the crime," Ashok's father Amirchand was quoted as saying by Firstpost.

"Villagers are with us and they all want us to demand justice for Ashok and action against irresponsible police officials," he added.
