Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaches Manila to attend ASEAN Summit

Manila, Nov 12 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday reached  Manila city in Philippines to attend the ASEAN Summit.

MEA Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted: "Kumusta po Philippines! PM @narendramodi arrives in Manila to attend ASEAN and East Asia Summits; heralding 3-days of intense diplomatic activity furthering our #ActEastPolicy."

Kumar said:"Enthusiastic welcome by Indian Diaspora. PM @narendramodi greeted by members of Diaspora, who form an important niche group of Filipino society."

Modi will meet US President Donald Trump during this tip.

Modi left for Manila early on Sunday to attend the ASEAN and East Asia Summits.

On Monday, Modi will meet President Trump for 45 minutes as a part of bilateral engagement.

Besides, PM Modi will also have a bilateral meeting with President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte.

He will also have interactions with other ASEAN and East Asia Summit Leaders.
