CWC adopts resolution on party poll schedules, Rahul likely to be crowned as President in mid-December
New Delhi, Nov 20 (IBNS) : The Congress Working Committee, currently underway at New Delhi's 10 Janpath has passed a resolution stipulating the schedule for the internal polls, which are expected to witness elevation of Rahul Gandhi by the middle of December, the party President's mantle from her mother, Sonia.
According to the resolution, notification for the poll will be issued on December 1, nomination on December 14, voting on 1 December 16 and counting on December 19.

On the last day of filing the nomination, if no other contestant files against Rahul Gandhi, then he will be declared President unopposed.
Rumours are rife that Rahul is set to be the only candidate in fray.
According to media reports, the party has chosen to coronate Rahul as the party head on December 19, a day after the results to the Assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh are announced.
The CWC meeting on Monday meeting was probably Sonia's last one as the party president.
The Congress will be heading towards the polls in the Gujarat Assembly election in December it is aiming to oust the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state.
Sonia Gandhi, who took over the Congress helm in May 1998, is the longest serving president of the party.
Rahul Gandhi took over as vice president, the number two position, in January 2013.
