New Delhi, Nov 20 (IBNS): The National Commission for Women (NCW) on Monday urged Haryana Police to take action against state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief Media Coordinator Suraj Pal Amu for his comments against  Padmavati filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika Padukone.

"#NCW has written to the #Haryana DGP BS Sandhu requesting him to look into the matter immediately and take appropriate action in accordance with the law," NCW tweeted.

The BJP leader triggered a controversy when he promised a reward of Rs 10 crore to anyone who beheads actor Deepika or director Bhansali.

The makers of the movie have deferred its release following protest.

Earlier, the movie was scheduled to hit the theatre on Dec 1.
