Arunachal Pradesh governor takes up the recruitment issue with Army Chief
Guwahati, Nov 27(IBNS): Arunachal Pradesh governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) met the Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM at New Delhi on Monday.
They discussed about the national security issues and the requirement of enhanced number of army recruitment rallies in the State of Arunachal Pradesh.
For providing opportunity to more and more youth of Arunachal Pradesh to enable them to join the Indian Armed forces, the Arunachal Pradesh governor emphasized on 6 times more armed forces recruitment rallies in the State.
He also asked for seven pre-recruitment training centers for the aspiring and able bodied youth namely at Bomdila, Itanagar, Ziro, Aalo, Tezu, Likabali and Jairampur, so as to provide open opportunity to them to compete for the recruitment.
As an initiative to raise the employment rate in the state, Mishra called for collaborative effort of the Armed Forces and the State Government in facilitating the youth to join the forces.
He pointed out that the youth of the State have the aspirations but due to the remoteness of their living areas and lack of pre recruitment training many aspirants have missed the recruitment opportunity in the past.
The Arunachal Pradesh governor also suggested for lowering the height consideration for our youth in the border areas so that the natural handicap of the short height of our young men does not hamper their chances of joining the Indian Army.
