New Delhi, Nov 28 (IBNS): Addressing the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017 on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump's daughter and adviser Ivanka Trump said Hyderabad is quickly emerging as an innovative hub of India.

Ivanka and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have launched the 2017 edition of the summit.

This is the first time the summit, which will go on between Nov 28 and Nov 30, is taking place in India.

Speaking about the women empowerment, Ivanka said: "Only when women thrive, societies, families reach their fullest."

The US President's most important adviser even lauded PM Modi for being the "symbol of hope" for the country. "From selling tea to becoming Prime Minister, you have proven to bring a transformation" Ivanka said referring to Modi.

Congratulating the people of the largest democracy, Ivanka said: "...India inspires us all".

"The greatest treasure is you-dreamers, innovators, entrepreneurs- who always thrive for a better India" Ivanka said making a reference to the Indian entrepreneurs present in the summit.

Ivanka also met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj earlier in the day.

The theme for the summit in 2017 is 'Women First, Prosperity for All'.

Ivanka, who is undertaking her first solo foreign visit, was asked by Modi to attend the summit when the Indian Prime Minister visited the US this year.

The US President's daughter is expected to address a session also on Wednesday.
