New Delhi, Dec 1 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday greeted people of Nagaland on their Statehood Day.

"On the occasion of their Statehood Day, I convey my greetings to the people of Nagaland. This state is blessed with immense natural beauty and industrious citizens. I pray that the state scales new heights of development in the times to come," the Prime Minister's tweet read.

Nagaland was formally inaugurated on Dec 1, 1963 and became the 16th state of India.
