New Delhi, Dec 13 (IBNS): The Central government on Wednesday extended the deadline for mandatory linking of Aadhaar and PAN with bank accounts indefinitely, according to media reports.

According to reports, the revenue department under the Union Finance ministry has issued a new set of rules amending the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) rules (maintenance of records), 2005.

The rule "submit the Aadhaar number and Permanent Account Number by 31st December, 2017" has been replaced with "submit the Aadhaar number, and Permanent Account Number or Form No. 60, by such date as may be notified by the Central Government", according to media reports.

Earlier on Wednesday, the media had reported that a five-judge Constitution Bench will hear the interlocutory applications, on Thursday, seeking interim relief against the Centre's decision on linking of Aadhaar with various schemes.
