Assam Rifles troops recovered a cache of arms-ammu in Nagaland

Guwahati, Dec 13 (IBNS)  : The troops of Assam Rifles  recovered a cache of arms and ammunition and incriminating documents during search operations in two different places in Nagaland on Tuesday, officials said.

According to the reports, the troops of 32 Assam Rifles under the  HQ IGAR (North) conducted a search operation on the basis of  specific information in general area Tenyiphe-I in Dimapur district.

During the search operation, they recovered one point 22mm pistol with magazine, one 9 mm revolver and eight rounds of live ammunition from a house.

“A suspected person, identified as Aso Yimchungar was staying in the rented house. He  was found absconding. The recoveries were handed over to Chumukedima Police Station, Dimapur,” PRO, HQ IGAR (North) Lt Col Amitabh Sharma said.

The Assam Rifles  had conducted another operation at the general area D-Khel, Diphupar along with a police representative and recovered 55 live assorted  rounds ammunition, 1 Misfired round  and  1 Fired cartridge case and a  Tax Collection letter of NSCN(IM) and other incriminating documents from  a house.

They also recovered an Identity card of Apong Tangkhul, Tatar of NSCN (IM) from the house . The  recovered items were handed over to Diphupar Police Station, Dimapur.
