Exit polls predict a Modi juggernaut in Gujarat, a BJP sweep in Himachal
Gandhinagar/Shimla, Dec 14 (IBNS): The Narendra Modi wave seems to continue in the country as multiple exit poll suggests the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to win Gujarat Assembly election and make an inroad in Himachal Pradesh, giving a big blow to the Congress.
The exit polls predict BJP to win around 110 out of 182 seats as opposed to Congress' 70 seats in Gujarat.
Times Now-VMR predicted that BJP might get 109 out if 182 seats while the Congress will have to settle for 70 seats. Three seats might go to Others.
Times Now-VMR predicted BJP to win 31, Congress 22 and others 1 seat in north Gujarat; BJP 27 and Congress 7, Others 1 in south Gujarat; BJP 23, Congress 16 and others 1 in central Gujarat; BJP 28, Congress 26 in Kutch-Saurashtra.
ABP-CSDS predicted BJP might win 117, Congress 64 seats leaving 1 for Others.
ABP-CSDS exit poll suggested BJP to get 35, Congress 18 seats in north Gujarat; BJP 24, Congress 11 seats in south Gujarat; BJP 34, Congress 19 and Others 1 in Kutch-Saurashtra.
IndiaToday-Axis My India exit poll predicted 99-103 seats for BJP, 68-82 for Congress and 1-4 for Others.
According to the India-Today exit poll, BJP will get 14 and Congress 18 seats in north Gujarat; BJP 25, Congress 10 in south Gujarat, BJP 29, Congress 11 in central Gujarat; BJP 23, Congress 30, Others 1 in Kutch-Saurashtra.
Republic TV-C Voter predicted BJP to get 108, Congress 74 out of total 182 seats.
News X-CNX exit poll stated BJP might get 110-120 seats leaving 65 to 75 seats for the Congress and Others could get 2 to 4 seats.
The exit polls also suggested that the BJP might replace the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh when the voting results will come out on Monday.
Times Now-VMR predicted BJP to win 51 seats while the Congress could only manage to bag 16 seats.
India Today-Axis My India poll gave 47-55 to BJP, 13-20 to Congress and Others might get 0-2 seats.
The saffron-brigade is ruling Gujarat since 1995.
The Congress, which is trying to come back to power in Gujarat, fought the Assembly poll aligning with the Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS).
The BJP is eyeing on to return to power in Himachal Pradesh after five years of Congress rule.
The poll results in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh will come out on Dec 18.
