Rahul Gandhi to visit Shimla tomorrow for post-poll review
New Delhi, Dec 28 (IBNS) : Congress president Rahul Gandhi will visit Shimla on Friday to review the party's performance in the recently-held Himachal Pradesh Assembly election, media reports said.
The Congress lost power in the state to the BJP. The party managed to bag just 21 seats out of 68, while the BJP won 44 seats.
According to reports, Gandhi will seek the views of party workers on the defeat. He will address them at a workers' meeting in Shimla.
The Congress secured less than one third seats in the election while sitting Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh managed a slender victory.
In the outgoing Assembly, the ruling Congress had 36 seats, the BJP had 26 and six were held by Independents.
