SC to hear tomorrow the plea seeking probe into Judge Loya’s death
New Delhi, Jan 11 (IBNS) : The Supreme Court will, on Friday, hear an independent plea seeking a probe into the mysterious death of justice BH Loya, who was hearing the sensitive Sohrabudding encounter case that involves BJP President Amit Shah and various police officers.
According to reports, a three-member bench comprising Chief Justice Dipak Misra, Justices AM Khanwilkar and Juatice DY Chandrachud on Thursday took note of the submission.
The plea for a probe into the judge's death on December 21 was filed by Maharashtra-based journalist BR Lone.
The death of the judge came into the light after The Caravan magazine published an interview Loya’s sister Anuradha Biyani, and father Harikrishan, who alleged a foul play.
The publication cites various alleged manipulations in records on the night of Loya’s death.
However, Justice Loya’s son Anuj rubbished the report, saying that he was convinced that his father died of a heart attack.
He also said that his family does not have any doubt about the “integrity of investigative agencies”.
