Ahmedabad, , Jan 16 (IBNS) : Patidar leader Hardik Patel and Congress leader Arjun Modhwadia  met Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international working president Pravin Togadia in hospital on Tuesday after the latter alleged that there was a plan to kill him in an encounter.

Togadia, who went briefly missing on Monday before being found unconscious in Ahmedabad's Sahibuag area,  later alleged that some people were  trying to stifle his voice and that he was not allowed to speak on issues like Ram Temple, farmers and cow slaughter.

"I don't agree with Togadia on a number of issues, but on this topic, we are as one. Everybody knows the conspiracy being run under Amitbhai and Narendrabhai. It's a known secret that the RSS is against Pravin Togadia," Patel told media after the meeting the VHP leader on Tuesday.

Togadia earlier on Tuesday  called a media conference and alleged that people were trying to prevent him from speaking about the Ram temple and the cow slaughter law. He claimed attempts are being made to frame him in fake cases and said that someone might be trying to get him killed in a fake encounter. He also claimed Rajasthan police came to arrest him yesterday in a decades-old case.

"I am being targeted for a decades-old case, there is an attempt to suppress my voice. Rajasthan Police team came to arrest me. Someone told me plan was being made to kill me in an encounter,"  Togadia claimed.
