Two Naga militants nabbed by Assam Rifles

Guwahati, Jan 17 (IBNS): Security forces apprehended two Naga militants in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam in past 24 hours.
 

Kohima based Defence PRO Colonel Chiranjeet Konwer said that based on intelligence input, the troops of Assam Rifles’s Changlang battalion launched operation at Namtok village in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district in the wee hours of Wednesday and apprehended a hardcore NSCN (IM) militant from the area.

The nabbed militant was identified as Kejen Ngongpa and security personnel had recovered a pistol, ammunition in possession from him.

“The nabbed militant is an active member of the outfit since December 2016 and had under gone training at NSCN(IM) training camp at Myanmar,” Colonel Konwer said.

Earlier, troops of Assam Rifles had apprehended a NSCN (K) militant from Ledo area in upper Assam’s Tinsukia district along with Arunachla Pradesh border on Tuesday.

Security personnel had recovered one pistol, ammunition and other incriminating documents in possession from him.
