Chennai, Jan 20 (IBNS): After six years, fares of all Tamil Nadu government buses have been hiked, media reports said.
The minimum fare of buses went up from Rs. 3 to Rs. 5 while the maximum from Rs. 14 to Rs. 23.
The government clarified that they have hiked the fare considering the increase in fuel prices and the maintenance cost.
The new fare will come into effect from Sunday.
