17 people die in Delhi plastic factory fire, PM Modi expresses anguish
New Delhi, Jan 20 (IBNS): Seventeen people have died in a fire which erupted at a plastic factory in north Delhi's Bawana industrial area this evening, media reports said.
One person has reportedly jumped from the first floor of the factory sustaining a leg injury.
The fire was caught at the ground floor initially at around 6.20 p.m. on Saturday.
Around 10 fire engines were at the spot immediately after the fire break out.
The cause of the fire is yet to be known.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted to say: "Deeply anguished by the fire at a factory in Bawana. My thoughts are with the families of those who lost their lives. May those who are injured recover quickly."

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted: "V sad to hear abt large no of casualties. Keeping a close watch on rescue operations."
In a tweet, another minister of Delhi, Satyender Jain, tweeted: "Learnt about a serious fire incident in a private factory at Bawana. Several casualties reported. Monitoring the situation.Ordered enquiry."
