Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bhutan visits India, meets Sushma Swaraj

New Delhi, Feb 23 (IBNS): Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bhutan Lyonpo Damcho Dorji is on an official visit to India from Feb 20-23.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj held talks with the visiting Foreign Minister Lyonpo Damcho Dorji on 21 February 2018.

The two leaders discussed entire gamut of bilateral relations, including the upcoming high-level exchanges between the two countries.

They expressed satisfaction at the excellent state of bilateral ties, which are unique and time tested, and reiterated their commitment to further advance these exemplary ties for mutual benefit.

"The two leaders reviewed the commemorative activities planned this year to mark the Golden Jubilee of the establishment of formal diplomatic relations between India and Bhutan. On 21 February, both the Ministers jointly attended a special event hosted as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations by the Royal Bhutanese Embassy in New Delhi to coincide with the 38th Birthday of His Majesty, the King of Bhutan, read a statement issued by the MEA.

Sushma Swaraj hosted a dinner in honour of visiting Foreign Minister Lyonpo Damcho Dorji.
