Mungaoli/Kolaras, Feb 24 (IBNS): The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress are up to a prestige battle in two by-polls in Madhya Pradesh, taking place on Saturday, as the state is heading towards the Assembly election later this year, media reports said.

The constituencies Mungaoli and Kolaras have fallen vacant after the death of the MLAs in their respective seats.

Both the seats were won by the Congress in the last election.

The poll has appeared to be a contest between Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Congress' Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Scindia has extensively campaigned for the Congress candidates in both the seats.

The poll results will come out on February 28.
