Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswathi dies

Chennai, Feb 28 (IBNS): The 69th pontiff of the Kanchi Mutt, Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswathi, has died at an age of 82.

He passed away after being admitted to a hospital with complaints of breathing problem.

His health condition was poor for the greater part of the last year.

He was the head of the mutt which was established by Adi Shankaracharya.

The mutt was established in the 5th century.
