New Delhi, Mar 13 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday condemned the Maoist attack in Kistaram area of Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district in which at least  nine CRPF jawans lost their lives.

In a tweet, PM Modi wrote:

Earlier attacking the Centre, Gandhi said the incident reflected a 'deteriorating' internal security situation due to 'flawed policies'.

Condoling the loss of lives in the mishap, Gandhi tweeted:

West Bengal Chief Mionister Mamata Banerjee also condoled loss of lives in the incident.

At least nine Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)  personnel were killed, and six others injured in an IED blast by Maoists  in the Kistaram area of Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district on Tuesday, media reports said.

According to reports, the condition of four of the six injured are critical.

The incident, that took place during a search operation, came days after ten ultras were killed in a gunfight with security forces along  Chhattisgarh-Telengana border on March two.

In April 2017,  25 CRPF jawans were killed and six injured in an ambush by Maoists in the Burkapal area of Sukma in one of the biggest massacres in the recent time.
