Sushma Swaraj commences her three-day Japan visit

New Delhi, Mar 28 (IBNS): External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday departed for Japan.

She will visit Japan for three days.

Swaraj will attend the 9th India-Japan Foreign Minister’s Strategic Dialogue in Tokyo.

"Strengthening our Special Strategic and Global Partnership with Japan! EAM @SushmaSwaraj departs on a 3-day visit to Japan for the 9th India-Japan Foreign Minister’s Strategic Dialogue in Tokyo. #KonnichiwaNamaste," MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted.

Swaraj is visiting the Asian nation at the invitation of the Foreign Minister of Japan Taro Kono. 

During her visit, Sushma Swaraj will co-chair the 9th India-Japan Strategic Dialogue with Foreign Minister Kono on Mar 29, 2018.

The two sides will review all aspects of bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international issues of common interest,India's Ministry of External Affairs earlier said in a statement.

India and Japan concluded a Special Strategic and Global Partnership during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Japan in 2014.  Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited India in September 2017.

Japan is today one of the largest investors in India, with a growing presence in infrastructure projects, manufacturing, financial markets and capacity-building, among others, the Union ministry said in its release.
