Assam Rifles troops apprehend four NSCN (K) militants

Guwahati, Mar 29 (IBNS): The troops of Assam Rifles apprehended four militants belonging to banned NSCN (K) in Nagaland’s Mon district on Wednesday, officials said on Thursday.

Based on intelligence input, the Tizit battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted an operation along with police representative about movement  of NSCN (K) militants in  general area  Aboi.

The troops established a mobile check post at road Aboi Chenmoho  junction wherein  during the search of a suspected Maruti Omni van registered No AS-223847, security forces apprehended four NSCN(K) militants and recovered illegal arms and ammunition.

The nabbed militants were identified as Self Styled Sgt  Wangnao  Takhe, SS Corporal, Hongshai  Konyak  and Achae  Konyak.

Security personnel recovered one Italy made 7.65 mm pistol, one point 22 pistol, seven live rounds 7.65mm, five live rounds point 22, Rs 4,52,940 cash, Mobile phones,  four bottles MC Dowell Rum,  three Kani Strips (Opium),  one Wpn issue slip of dated March 4, 2018 of Hauky at Camp in the  name of SS Sgt Wangnao Takhe and one extortion note in possession from them.

Later, the apprehendees along with the recovered items were handed over to Aboi police station for further investigation.
