New Delhi/Kolkata, Mar 30 (IBNS): Bharatiya Janata Party president, Amit Shah, on Friday announced that a four-member team will visit conflict-riddled Asansol in West Bengal to report on the prevailing situation, according to media reports.

Office of Amit Shah tweeted, "BJP National President Shri @AmitShah constitutes a four-member committee to visit the affected areas in Asansol (West Bengal) and submit a report."

The four members chosen are the party's vice president Om Mathur, Shahnawaz Hussain, Roopa Ganguly and BD Ram, according to a press release issued by the Office.

Clashes erupted between two groups on Sunday and Monday over a Ram Navami rally at Raniganj, the police said.

The clash left one police man and another person dead, according to media reports.

On Thursday, Asansol's BJP MP, Union Minister Babul Supriyo, alleged that he was prevented from visiting the area by the local police.
