New Delhi, Mar 30 (IBNS): The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced on Friday that the re-examination for the class 12 Economics paper will be conducted on Apr 25, while the date for re-exam class 10's Mathematics paper will be announced later, reports said.

Addressing a press conference, Union Education Secretary Anil Swarup, said that the class 10 re-examination will be restricted to Delhi and Haryana only, as the enquiry has revealed that the leak affected only the aforementioned region of India.

"Regarding Class 10th re-examination, as leak was restricted to Delhi and Haryana, if it at all a re-exam will happen, it will happen only in Delhi and Haryana and a decision will be taken on this in next 15 days. If at all a re-exam is done, it will be in July," he said.

Swarup added, "Our immediate concern is that the children of this country should not suffer unnecessarily. The decision we have taken is in their interest but this does not mean the inquiry will end."

According to the police, at least 1000 students in Delhi had access to the leaked paper, news outlet NDTV reported.

The CBSE were informed about the same via an anonymous fax, which it received on Mar 23.

Following hours of discussion, the HRD ministry announced earlier this week that it was going to conduct re-examinations.

So far, police ave questioned over 20 people, including school students, in connection with the case.
