Mumbai, Apr 7 (IBNS): After getting bail on a 20-year old Blackbuck poaching case, convicted Bollywood superstar Salman Khan reached Mumbai on Saturday night, media reports said.

He was whisked off to the airport immediately after getting bail by a Rajasthan court.

After being convicted in the case, Khan spent two nights in the Jodhpur Central Jail.

The court directed the superstar, who is known for acting in several Box Office hits in his career, to file a personal bail bond for Rs. 50,000 and produce a Rs. 25,000 surety from two persons each who will guarantee that he will comply with all bail conditions.

Khan has been directed not to leave the country without the permission of the court.

Salman, who was imprisoned for five years by a Jodhpur court on Thursday, spent two nights in the prison.

The four other co-accused –  actors Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam – have been acquitted.

The actors were accused of poaching a blackbuck, an endangered species protected under the Indian Wildlife Act, in Kankani village of Jodhpur during the shooting of film Hum Saath Saath Hain in September, 1998.

Khan was convicted under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act 1972.

Final arguments of the case were completed in the trial court on Mar 28, after which chief judicial magistrate Dev Kumar Khatri had reserved the judgment for Thursday.

According to the complaint, Salman Khan had killed two black bucks.

He was also charged for possessing a weapon with an expired license.
