Madhya Pradesh: Mini-Truck falls off bridge, 20 killed

Bhopal, Apr 18 (IBNS): At least 20 people were killed when the mini-truck in which they were travelling fell down from a bridge in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday, media reports said.

According to reports, the incident has left 30 others injured.

The truck was on its way to Sidhi town in Madhya Pradesh when the mishap reportedly occurred.

The driver reportedly lost control over the vehicle and it dropped into the dry riverbed.

Rescue teams immediately rushed to the spot.

The injured people were taken to hospital for treatment.

Efforts are still going on to rescue those trapped inside the vehicle.

According to reports, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced an assistance of Rs. 2 lakh each to the families of the dead and Rs. 50,000 each to the injured.

He also condoled the loss of lives in the mishap by posting a message on his Twitter page.
