BJP leader Maya Kodnani acquitted in Naroda Patiya massacre case
New Delhi, Apr 20 (IBNS): The Gujarat High Court on Friday acquitted former minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Maya Kodnani in the Naroda Patiya massacre case, media reports said.
Kodnani was accused of organising the riot in Gujarat in 2002.
The court, however, convicted other accused Babu Bajrangi.
Kodnani along with 32 other accused were sentenced to life imprisonment for 28 years by a special court in 2012.
Kodnani was the Gujarat minister when the riot took place in the state.
