New Delhi, Apr 27 (IBNS): Resident doctors at Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) declared an indefinite strike after one of their colleagues was assaulted by a senior doctor, according to media reports on Friday.

The Resident Doctors' Association (RDA) has alleged that the senior doctor slapped the senior resident in front of colleagues, nursing staff and other attendees, reports said.

The RDA has made several demands, including immediate suspension of the senior doctor, he should not be allowed to take in thesis candidates, should not be allowed to conduct examinations, etc.

According to media reports, the AIIMS in a release said that the incident took place on Wednesday and the senior doctor has apologized to the senior resident.
