Wuhan, Apr 27 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping met in Wuhan city on Friday and exchanged views on solidifying bilateral relationship between the two nations, officials said.

The meeting between the two leaders has been called as an 'informal summit'.

MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted: "And the much awaited Informal Summit gets underway! The two leaders had a one-on-one meeting during which they exchanged views on solidifying our bilateral relationship."

The 'informal summit' between Modi and Xi commenced with a cultural event at the Hubei Provincial Museum.

The two leaders were seen shaking hands when they met as the Chinese President himself welcomed Modi to the museum.
