Mann Ki Baat: PM Modi urges citizens to participate in Fit India Movement

New Delhi, Apr 29 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday spoke on the importance of preventive health care awareness and urged citizens to participate in the Fit India Movement.

While addressing his monthly radio broadcast 'Mann Ki Baat', PM Modi said, "Last month I urged people to take part in the Fit India movement. I am glad with the overwhelming support for the movement."

Modi also appreciated Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar for his contribution toward Fit India Movement.

The Prime Minister emphasised on the benefits of Yoga in this context.

"Yoga is a wonderful way to remain fit. Let us think about ways to make the 4th Yoga Day memorable," said he.

During his address, PM Modi urged citizens to contribute towards a clean India.

Making a pitch to join in cleaning the country, Modi said, "What do you plan to do this summer? Have you thought about an interesting Swachh Bharat internship?"

Modi also congratulated the Indian athletes for ther achievements at the Commonwealth Games.
