Srinagar/Jammu, Apr 30 (IBNS): BJP leader Nirmal Singh has resigned from Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti-led Jammu and Kashmir government,  reports said on Monday.

He was serving as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state.

Singh made the move at a time when Jammu and Kashmir is gearing up to witness a cabinet reshuffle on Monday.

Sources said, Speaker Kavinder Gupta, who is from the Bhartiya Janata Party, has been given green signal for the post of Deputy Chief Minister of the state.

The oath-taking ceremony of Council of Ministers will be administered by Governor NN Vohra on Monday at 12 noon at Convention Hall, Jammu.

Due to annual Darbar move, the offices in Governor House have been closed due to which the venue of oath-taking ceremony has been shifted to Convention Hall, Jammu.

From BJP high command, Avinash Rai Khanna, along with Ram Madhav, will be taking part in the ceremony.

It is pertinent to mention that both Nirmal Singh and Kavinder Gupta are in New Delhi to meet party High Command Leaders to finalise list for Cabinet reshuffle.
