Kanpur/Agra, May 5 (IBNS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday visited several areas hit by the recent dust-storm which left more than 70 people dead.

Speaking to reporters, the CM seemed to blame weather department for not providing enough information over the storm that left large areas of the state damaged.

"Why didn't the weather department alert people over the storm on time," he said.

He did aerial survey of the storm-hit regions.

Yogi faced criticisms as he continued to campaign in poll-bound Karnataka at a time when his state was hit badly by the dust-storm.

He reached Agra on Friday.

Yogi was earlier scheduled to continue his campaign in Karnataka for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) till Saturday, media reports said.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah attacked his UP countrerpart over his decision to stay in the southern state at the time when storm ravaged his state.

"At least 64 people have lost their lives due to a storm in Uttar Pradesh. My heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones. I am sorry your CM is needed here in Karnataka. I am sure he will return soon & attend to his work there," the Karnataka CM attacked Yogi in his tweet.
