Blackbuck poaching case: Salman Khan's petition against jail term to be heard on Jul 17
Jodhpur, May 7 (IBNS): The petition of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who has been convicted in a 20-year old blackbuck poaching case, against his five-year jail term will be heard on Jul 17, media reports said.
Salman had appeared in the Jodhpur court on Monday.
He reached the city in Rajasthan on Sunday night along with his sister Alvira Khan, friend Baba Siddiqui and lawyers.
The 52-year-old actor was sentenced to five years in jail on Apr 5 for killing two blackbucks in 1998 in Kankani village, near Jodhpur in Rajasthan, during the shooting of a multi-starrer, "Hum Saath Saath Hain".
His co-actors Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam Kothari and Sonal Bendre, who were in the SUV that the "Dabangg" actor was driving during their alleged late night hunting outing, were, however, acquitted by the Jodhpur sessions court.
He spent two nights in the prison.
Khan was released on Apr 7 after he was granted bail.
