Landslide at a stone quarry near Aizawl, kills 4 people

Aizawl (Mizoram), May 12 (IBNS): At least four people, including a minor girl, were killed while a stone quarry hit by massive landslides in Mizoram on Saturday morning.

According to the reports, the incident took place at Bungbanglow area near Zemawbawk on the ourskirts of Aizawl.

Local people said that, several people were working at the stone quarry while landslide happened following torrential rain in past couple of days.

Rescue teams have been recovered two bodies from the site.

A local people said that, he saw two women, a minor girl and a man were working at the quarry when rocks came crumbling down.

Meanwhile, a top official of Mizoram police said that, they couldn’t ascertain as to how many persons were working at the quarry while landslide hit.

Rescue operations are going on at the area.
