Assam Congress takes out bicycle rally against fuel price hike
Guwahati, May 29 (IBNS): As a part of ‘Betrayal Day’ observed by All India Congress Committee (AICC) against Modi government’s failure to control fuel price, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Tuesday took out a bicycle rally in Guwahati.
Former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, APCC president and Rajya Sabha MP Ripun Bora, party leaders, workers and supporters also took part in the protest rally.
The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee reminded Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP's 2014 Lok Sabha election slogan 'Bahut hui mehangai ki maar, ab ki baar BJP ki sarkar'.
The protest was led by APCC president Ripun Bora and over 1000 party workers participated in the protest rally.
APCC president and MP Ripun Bora said that, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Tuesday took out a bicycle rally to protest against the Union government’s failure to control fuel price.
“In past four years Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Union government is totally failed in all rounds of corner. So APCC has observed ‘Vishwasghat Diwas’ (the day of betrayal) against four years of BJP’s misrule,” Ripun Bora said.
On the other hand, former Assam Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Tarun Gogoi said that, prices of petrol and diesel rise every day.
“Crude oil price in international market has come down, but petrol-diesel price in India rises every day. People had voted him (Prime Minister Narendra Modi), but he betrayed the people of the country,” Gogoi said.
