Kumaraswamy thanks PM Modi for fitness challenge nomination

Bengaluru, Jun 13 (IBNS): Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for nominating him for the fitness challenge.

Kumaraswamy tweeted, "Dear @narendramodi ji I am honoured& thankU very much for d concern about my health I believe physical fitness is imptnt for all&support d cause. Yoga-treadmill r part of my daily workout regime. Yet, I am more concerned about devlpment fitness of my state&seek ur support for it."

Apart from the Karnataka CM, Modi has also nominated table tennis player Manika Batra and Indian Police Service (IPS) officers for the fitness challenge.

Accepting Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli's fitness challenge, Modi on Wednesday morning shared a video where he could be seen training hard.

Modi could be seen doing yoga and also walking on tracks.

Tweeting the video, the PM said: "Here are moments from my morning exercises. Apart from Yoga, I walk on a track inspired by the Panchtatvas or 5 elements of nature - Prithvi, Jal, Agni, Vayu, Aakash. This is extremely refreshing and rejuvenating. I also practice breathing exercises. #HumFitTohIndiaFit"

The Fit India Movement was launched by Modi in March and he also spoke about it in Mann Ki Baat radio talk show in April.
