New Delhi, June 13 (IBNS): The Congress on Wednesday condoled the death of 4 BSF soldiers killed in cross-border firing by Pakistan.

"We condole the death of the 4 soldiers killed in cross border firing by Pakistan. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families," the Congress tweeted.

Pakistani firing has killed at least four personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF)  in Chambliyal sector of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Wednesday.

Five other personnel were injured in the incident.

Jammu and Kashmir police chief SP Vaid tweeted: "In Ramgarh Jammu sector of IB , 4 BSF personnel were martyred including one Asstt Commandant & 5 injured due to firing from across. Our heart goes to those who lost their dear ones."

He expressed his condolence over the death of the jawans.

On June 2,  At least two Border Security Force (BSF) jawans died as Pakistan resorted to unprovoked firing along the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir.

The incidents occurred even as Director General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan agreed to implement the ceasefire pact of 2003.
