Cow vigilantism not acceptable, says Supreme Court, asking states to act
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday hearing petitions said "cow vigilantism is not acceptable" urging every state of India to prevent such violence.
The apex court called it a mob violence and said victims should not be linked to religion.
India witnessed a series of attack on people, mostly from the minority community, in the name of cow protection.
Cow is worshipped by a large section of majority Hindus in India.
