Mumbai rains: 1 dead, over 100 rescued from Chinchoti waterfall

Mumbai, July 8 (IBNS): At least one died while over 100 were rescued from the Chinchoti waterfall in Vasai near Mumbai as a result of heavy rains on Saturday.

Dues to heavy rains, the water level in the Chinchoti waterfall, a popular picnic spot near Mumbai, rose suddenly.

The victim has been identified as Bhavesh Gupta, 35.

The rescue operation was carried out by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the Fire Brigade and local police.
