Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, July 18 (IBNS) :  A Mig-21 aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday, killing its pilot, media reports said.

The crash took place at Patta Jattiyan in the Jawali Sub-division in the afternoon.

The fighter jet flew from Punjab's Pathankot on a routine sortie.

A court of inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident.

This is the second Indian Air Force fighter jet crash in two months. In June, an Indian Air Force Jaguar fighter-bomber crashed in Gujarat's Kutch, killing the pilot.
