Vijay Mallya appears in London court over extradition case
London, July 31 (IBNS): Indian liquor baron Vijay Mallya on Tuesday appeared in a London court for closing arguments in his high-profile extradition trial.
Speaking to reporters on the verdict of the court which he is awaiting, Mallya said: "The court will decide."
The next hearing in the case will be held on Sept 12.
The UK court even directed Indian officials to share videos of the Indian jail where Mallya will be kept, reports said.
Mallya, who fled India in March 2016, owes Rs. 9,000 crore to banks and faces trial on different counts ranging from defaulting of loans and money syphoning.
The liquor baron is currently on bail on an extradition warrant since his arrest in April last year.
Mallya was arrested by Scotland Yard over a fraud case but was later granted bail by fulfilling a 650,000-pound bail bond.
