Priya cinema hall will be reopened with full compliance to fire guidelines: Dutta
Kolkata, Aug 24 (IBNS): Priya Entertainment Managing Director, Arijit Dutta, has said that the popular Priya cinema hall, which experienced a fire recently during a movie screening, will be reopened and they are not compromising on any of the guidelines and regulations on fire safety while correcting all the damages done to the structure.
"Our core strength remains Cinema exhibition and Priya Cinema and we shall not compromise on any of the guidelines and regulations and ensure that the safety of the patrons is the highest priority," Dutta said.
"Even when the unfortunate fire broke out the staff of Priya and ofcourse the Fire Brigade department ensured that there was no harm caused to any of the lives inside the premises and we took swift action towards saving each and every life. We are coming back soon and I am looking forward to it," he said.
"The recent fire which broke in the premises had given rise to number of unwarranted and unjustified conjectures by a section though during the phase Priya cinema and PEPL has received immense love, strength and support from countless millions on social media and every other platform and everyone has been eagerly awaiting the re-opening of Bengal’s heritage of cinema viewing, Priya cinema, " he said.
A fire broke out at Kolkata's popular Priya Cinema hall recently during a usual movie screening, triggering panic though no casualty was reported.
Dutta, who is a film distributor, was reportedly on the ground floor when the fire occurred.
Priya Cinema is a popular venue of many Bengali films' premiere show.
